How to Re-optimize Routes Mid-Day

Logistics is unpredictable. When a driver breaks down, traffic builds up, or a VIP customer places an urgent order at 1:00 PM, you need to adjust routes on the fly without causing chaos for the driver.

The Mid-Day Re-optimization Flow

Follow these steps to safely inject new stops into an active route:

1. Go to Plan & Track and select the active route.
2. Drag the new order onto the route, or create it and add it to the plan.
3. Press Optimize.

What happens next?

Stops the driver has already arrived at are locked in place — they have happened, so they cannot be re-ordered. Everything still to come is re-sequenced around them, with the new order inserted wherever it costs the day the least, still respecting the vehicle's capacity, the delivery windows and the end of the driver's shift.

The summary tells you what changed: how many stops were sequenced, how far the remaining day drives, and anything that no longer fits.

The driver's app picks up the new order the next time it syncs. It does not yet push a notification about a changed itinerary, so for an urgent insertion it is worth a call.
